Shimadzu has launched its latest amino acid analyser for use in food & beverage and pharmaceutical testing.
Shimadzu Scientific Instruments has launched the UF-Amino Station, an LC/MS amino acid analysis system developed jointly with Ajinomoto Co.
Offering simultaneous multicomponent analysis, the UF-Amino Station is designed to analyse 38 amino acids in nine minutes, drastically enhancing laboratory throughput.
The UF-Amino Station achieves high-speed analysis utilising a fast application-specific column and an LCMS-2020 mass spectrometer.
The system also automates the derivatisation reaction, which eliminates the need for manual pre-treatment procedures, increasing the efficiency and reliability of test results, Shimadzu says.
The system features AmiNavi software, which analyses samples quickly and automatically identifies standard sample peaks, creates the calibration curve, and performs quantitation of sample solutions.
The UF-Amino Station is designed for the automated analysis of amino acid composition in food products such as meat and fermented foods that contain many impurity components.
The increased speed also supports new applications such as real-time amino acid composition analysis in culture fluid.
Additionally, the UF-Amino Station can provide an automated amino analysis system to comply with USP and EP testing.
