We see from your search that you're looking for information on the term "Scientific Discovery", and we have a large number of manufacturers' news releases and technical articles here on Laboratorytalk which will be of interest. Let me be your guide.

Start with the news release FEI and Scripps provide open source code from FEI, which we summarised at the time by saying "Leginon software system, for automated control and image acquisition from a transmission electron microscope (TEM), will now be available to the global scientific community as open source code". A few weeks before, we featured the news release 20 times the power at one-third the price from FEI: "At approximately one-third the price of a traditional SEM, the Phenom will be affordable for many more undergraduate and community college programmes mainstreaming access to the nanoscale".

In June 2007, we covered the news from Dante concerning its Geant2 - take a look at Geant2 drives high speed supercomputer projects which says: "Private network of point-to-point links deployed by Geant2 will enable researchers to gain faster access to Deisa's shared file system, supporting ground-breaking applications in computational science".

Take a look also at the news release from Bio-Rad Laboratories, Bio-Rad pockets three life science industry awards, as well as Supporting the 7th annual Westchester science fair from Carl Zeiss MicroImaging, and Waters and Symyx collaborate on lab software from Waters.
