‘Strain Gauges’

A Laboratorytalk guide

Start with the news release Pandemic detection tool ready to fight flu from Agilent Technologies Europe, which we summarised at the time by saying "Agilent Technologies has announced that a joint effort by researchers is helping to develop tools for rapidly characterising biological pathogens that could give rise to potentially deadly pandemics.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Testxpert software tests to ISO 6892-1:2009 from Zwick Roell: "The imminent release of ISO 6892-1:2009 signifies a new level of testing-machine control and is intended to improve the reproducibility of test results obtained from a tensile test on metal. ".

In June 2009, we covered the news from BioMerieux - take a look at Diversilab identifies Saccharomyces strain which says: "Biomerieux has launched the Diversilab Saccharomyces DNA fingerprinting kit, which has been designed to accurately and reproducibly identify the strain of yeast used in the brewing of beer.".

Take a look also at the news release from Warnex, Warnex develops test for influenza A H1N1 virus, as well as Premier Biosoft updates Primerplex from Premier Biosoft International, and Nimblegen tracks evolutionary path of H1N1 virus from Roche Applied Science.
