Oxford cardiac research promoted by ABX Pentra 400
Following the installation of an ABX Pentra 400 chemistry analyser at the University of Oxford, researchers in the department of physiology, anatomy and genetics say they are feeling the benefits
This, in turn, enables haematology laboratories to handle up to 2000 samples per day with configurations tailored to individual lab requirements.
Because of its flexibility, the new system will appeal equally to both new and existing customers, says the company.
Using the ABX Pentra ML, any model from the Horiba ABX Pentra or Micros haematology analyser range can be linked in any combination.
Once set up, the laboratory's LIS system is used to provide the work list and then the ABX Pentra ML takes over - creating patient profiles and allocating the workload in an optimal manner.
According to requirements, loading can be per list or per query.
For additional convenience and efficiency, all results are centralised on the same screen to be validated automatically or manually.
Furthermore all management, archiving and QC tasks are performed from the same workstation.
The ABX Pentra ML has been robustly tested in trial sites and as an example, two ABX Pentra 120s linked together demonstrated that up to 240 samples per hour can be run.
