Weighing the benefits
Adam Equipment has launched a new version of its top of the range AAA series of precision analytical balances, which have become a standard feature in many research laboratories
The new AAA-LE series has been designed in response to demands for a more competitively priced balance for industry and education Most of the features which have made the AAA-L series so popular - the large, easily accessible weighing chamber; the large LCD display, the sealed key pad and the GLP compliant software - have been retained

The AAA-LE series still has automatic calibration facility by use of an external calibration weight.
The software still provides a printout of the calibration details via the RS-232 bi-directional interface, so auditable records can be maintained in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice.
AAA-LE balances are available in three models with capacities of 100g, 160g and 250g each with 0.1mg resolution.
As with the AAA-L series, the new balances have a large stainless steel weighing pan in a stainless steel floored weighing chamber with three sliding glass doors providing access from the top as well as from both sides.
This makes fitting the optional density determination kit a simple task, and the internal software guides the user through the set-up procedure from temperature compensation to indicating the density in g/cm2 on the 16mm LCD digital display.
