Adept Scientific has combined its own online information systems with Athens's authentication capabilities, delivering a more personalised and improved service in a way that's familiar to most students and academics.
Now, by typing in their Athens username and password, visitors to http://edustore.adeptscience.co.uk are automatically verified as a bona fide staff member or student at an Athens-authenticated site.
This streamlines the process of providing proof of ID when purchasing popular software packages like EndNote, Mathcad, Maple and ChemOffice at discounted student and education prices online.
For visitors whose institution owns an Eduserv Chest licence for any Adept Scientific software package, the website automatically displays a tailored homepage offering those products they are eligible to buy at even lower personal edition prices for use on home computers.
"Now, when students and academic staff visit our education WebStore, they don't have to sort through our full range of academic products to find the best deal," said Paul Bragg, managing director for Adept Scientific.
"Our systems are able to recognise whether a visitor is eligible to qualify for discounted education/student or personal editions of our software according to their Athens account information.
"It should seriously streamline their journey through our online store".
Adept Scientific's says this latest technology further demonstrates its commitment to providing the fastest, smoothest and best possible service to their customers in the academic and public sector community as a whole. Request a free brochure from Adept Scientific ...
