Specialist recruiter targets oncology
researchers
Clinical and scientific recruitment firm Affinity Recruitment Solutions has restructured to target four specialist recruitment growth areas and expand its managed services client base
The restructure sees Affinity Recruitment Solutions focus on four key sectors; clinical research, biomedical, chemical and forensic science - all sectors that require specialist personnel with the appropriate level of qualifications, registration and practical experience Due to the growing shortage of suitable candidates, the search and selection process is often extended to outside of the UK increasing the complexity of the recruitment process

The move also reflects the increased interest from the scientific and clinical sectors in managed recruitment services, where companies do not always have in-house recruitment resources to fill vacancies themselves.
Adrian Skipper, group managing director said, "We have restructured our recruitment services around our core strengths and going forward our focus will be on oncology clinical research, biomedical, chemical and forensic science.
"The growth of jobs in these areas outstrip the supply of qualified personnel but, employers are seeking high calibre candidates - so recruitment in these areas requires a specialist service, which generalist recruitment firms do not offer.
"In addition, as a result of scientific skills shortages in the UK we are widening our net to attract quality candidates from the rest of Europe.
"Our aim is also to grow our managed services division by partnering employers who want to outsource their HR Recruitment function.
"Our recruitment staff are qualified specialists with experience in both commercial and scientific areas.
"This background equips them with the skills and understanding required to provide a comprehensive, professional service to both our clients and candidates.
"Increasingly jobseekers use the internet to find their next position, so in addition to providing information on the latest vacancies, our new website is a resource tool for those considering their career options".
Affinity operates across the UK and claims to be the UK's only dedicated oncology clinical research recruitment specialist.
For the last five years it has also worked closely with private sector forensic science laboratories, to become one of a handful of consultancies specialising in the recruitment of private sector forensic science personnel throughout the UK.
Key clients include: Quest Diagnostics UK, Key Forensic Services, Forensic DNA Services, and Nexus Oncology.
