Life sciences forum launched
Meetings in Baden-Baden and Edinburgh in November will profile new developments in gene expression, proteomics high-throughput analysis, and bioinformatics
Agilent Technologies announces the launch of its Life Sciences Forum.
Held on 11-12 November in Baden-Baden, Germany, then 14-15 November in Edinburgh, UK, this new series of scientific meetings will feature keynote presentations and discussions from an expert panel of opinion leaders and technologists.
The Agilent Forum will profile new developments in gene expression, proteomics high-throughput analysis, and bioinformatics through an informative combination of keynote and focused interactive workshop sessions.
A distinguished array of speakers will address attendees, including: Professor Dalia Cohen, gobal had fnctional gnomics at Novartis Parmaceuticals.
Dr Hanno Langen, head of proteomics initiative at Hoffmann-LaRoche.
Professor Brian Law, associate director, department of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals.
Professor Wilhelm Ansorge, functional genomics technology at EMBL.
Dr Igor Ivanov, director gene expression analysis at GPC Biotech.
Professor Gert-Jan van Ommen, chair department of human genetics at Leiden University.
Professor Andreas Manz, SmithKline Beecham chair for analytical chemistry at Imperial College.
Professor Gerard Marguerie, chief scientific officer at CliniGenetics.
Dr Charles Pineau, senior staff scientist at Inserm.
Professor Peter James, director of proteomics at Swegene.
Housed at the Dorint Maison Messmer in Baden-Baden and the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, the Life Science Forums will give life scientist delegates the chance to meet researchers and decision makers, and catch-up with key players in this rapidly growing field.
Heinz Kirsten, pharma solutions field operations manager Europe at Agilent Technologies comments, "With our Life Science Forum we aim to provide life scientists with cutting edge knowledge and key technology updates on developments in the global market.
The presentations will document the rapid progression of drug discovery and life science research fields and provide an insight as to how all companies can achieve this." He adds, "Our application and technology-based lectures will provide the foundation to discuss challenges and strategies available to enable organisations to successfully integrate new technologies into their development process." Each forum will conclude with a complimentary informal gala dinner, providing the ideal opportunity to network and exchange ideas with speakers, industry experts and delegates alike.
Those interested in attending should visit the Agilent website (link above) to download a registration form which, once completed, can be posted, faxed, or e-mailed to the address below.
The day rate is ?460 (£300) and the two-day residential rate, ?540 (£350).
