Informatics workbench software can address challenges in accessing, managing, sharing and applying findings in the drug discovery process

Agilent Technologies Europe says that it will be demonstrating its new Synapsia informatics workbench software at the R and D Leaders Forum to be held in the Hotel President Wilson in Geneva from 7 to 9 October 2002 Agilent, a major sponsor of the conference, will introduce Synapsia to its customers and through one-on-one demonstrations, and discuss how Synapsia can address challenges in accessing, managing, sharing and applying findings in the drug discovery process

The conference will focus on how pharmaceutical companies can increase R and D productivity.

There will also be discussion of evidence gained through the implementation of new technologies and strategies and if cost and time savings have been realised in practice Agilent's Synapsia informatics workbench family of software products is specifically designed to enable multidisciplinary scientists working in drug discovery to rapidly and easily share their interpretations of data.

By breaking the barriers between biology and chemistry, this improves decision quality at each step of the discovery process and ultimately helps pharmaceutical companies bring drugs to market more quickly.

Synapsia enables researchers to synthesise their collective understanding by incorporating research from internal and external sources of both experimental and analytical information.

Launched in August 2002 the power of this new informatics software is now further enhanced through separate agreements with IBM and Accelrys to integrate their technologies with Synapsia.
