Confident in your PCR data?

Anachem to launch PCR thermal cycler performance and validation service to enable compliance with ISO, GLP, GMP, FDA or other regulations

How confident are you in your PCR data? Are you getting maximum, reproducible yields? Using quality reagents, primers and protocols but still getting poor amplification? The problem could lie with your thermal cycler At Laboratory News Forum (18-19 October 2004, ICC, Birmingham, UK), Anachem will be launching a new service that will validate and report on the real time performance of PCR machines, to help users better understand their results, adapt protocols for more efficient use of valuable reagents and conform to regulatory requirements

The use of biological positive, negative and threshold controls is insufficient to guarantee reliable PCR results.

Validation of cyclers is required for laboratories that comply with ISO, GLP, GMP, FDA or other regulations and necessary for accreditation.

It is also recommended for all instruments in the marketplace, in particular real time PCR instruments.

It is obvious that PCR cyclers should perform as accurately as possible.

The displayed temperatures should be comparable to the actual absolute temperatures and variation across the block should be low.

If a cycler does not perform to these criteria, some knowledge and quantification of the temperature deviations would be of great value in the development of protocols, positioning of samples in the block and would help with interpretation of results.

This is especially important for real-time and quantitative PCR.

Cyclertest is the new PCR thermal cycler validation service from Anachem.

It will be performed by Anachem on-site at customer premises creating minimal disturbance and down time.

It can also be performed when Anachem is already on site conducting pipette service clinics.

The whole measurement system, called MTAS (mobile temperature acquisition system) has been calibrated against the Nist standard.

Test results are analysed and reported through an automated process, prohibiting any alterations of the acquired sample data.

These validations and certifications will be performed by Anachem's trained and certified technicians. Request a free brochure from Anachem ...
