Provided in paste form the Intercide BTX products are combined with compatible carriers, such as DIDP or ESBO, and added to the product matrix during manufacture without the need for additional processing.
Both the BTX 100 and BTX 200 range are designed to provide specific end-use benefits by protecting materials against both fungal and bacterial attack, as well as aiding the achievement of hygienic surfaces.
They can be used in a wide range of applications - vinyl flooring, wall coverings, signage, footwear and PVC coated textile fabrics.
The BTX biocides are based upon Bethoguard, supplied to Akcros by Janssen Pharmaceutica, Belgium - under a supply agreement into the PVC market.
Manufacturers using the Akcros range can use the 'Saniproofed by Intercide' certification mark to provide end users with the assurance that the product contains an Intercide microbiocide at the recommended concentration.
The certification mark forms part of a logo which can be attached to products as a visual endorsement of their status as an Intercide product.
David Sanders, Akcros sales and product manager for biocides, said, "Our new biocides have delivered outstanding technical results in a wide series of comparative tests against alternative non arsenic and arsenic based products, and they set new standards for all-round, cost-effective performance." "Manufacturers interested in testing the BTX range for themselves should contact either their usual sales contact or myself" he added.
