Assay for quantitative determination of free fatty acids (non-esterified fatty acids) in serum or plasma

Now available from Alpha Laboratories is an enzymatic, endpoint assay for quantitative determination of free fatty acids (non-esterified fatty acids) in serum or plasma The need for an extraction step is eliminated thus providing opportunity to automate on a wide range of clinical analysers

The method also benefits from removal of potential interference from ascorbic acid by the presence of ascorbate oxidase in the reagent.

Linear to 2mmol/l (higher concentrations by dilution), protocols are available for most analysers.

Unaffected by EDTA, citrate, oxalate or sodium fluoride in normal concentrations, and standard is included.
