Software for pipettes and other volumetric apparatus enables in-house calibration, requiring only a computer and a suitable balance

Alpha Laboratories has launched the latest version (3.2) of Pipette Tracker, which it says is the market leading calibration software for pipettes and other volumetric apparatus This version runs on any PC with Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP and will convert files from older versions of Pipette Tracker

Two versions of the software are available, with a standard version for the routine lab and the Pro version which fulfils the requirements of FDA 21 CFR part 11 as well as ISO/EN 8655:2002.

Now you don't need to send your pipettes, dispensers etc out for expensive calibration - all you need is a computer with a suitable balance to carry out the gravimetric calibration in your lab.

You can calibrate to your own SOP as often as you need to.

Alpha Pipette Tracker does all the calculations, scheduling and record keeping so you can even do away with those files of paper that take up space in the lab.

If you are sending your pipettes out for calibration you could also save the cost of the extra pipettes that you need to keep you working when they are away.

Alpha Pipette Tracker has been written by experts on the committee that developed ISO 8655 and a validation toolkit is also available for the Pro version.

If you run a central calibration lab the Pro version can even be programmed to email the users when their pipette is due for calibration.
