1ml sampling tube 100 delivers erythrocyte sedimentation rates in as little as 30 minutes, and is suitable for patients where only a limited amount of blood can be drawn

Analytical Technologies has introduced a 1ml sampling tube for use with its ESR analyser, requiring half the volume of blood previously needed The paediatric Sedimatic 100 delivers erythrocyte sedimentation rates in as little as 30 minutes, and sample preparation takes just seconds

The paediatric module is designed for high throughput and is ideal for samples taken from children, the elderly, or patients where only a limited amount of blood can be drawn.

With over ten years' experience in the supply and servicing of ESR analysers, Analytical Technologies's range also includes the Sedimatic 10 (suitable for smaller laboratories) which, together with the Sedimatic 100 and paediatric module, features unique quality control systems for inclusion in ISO-9000/GLP.

The larger 2ml tubes are also available for standard samples and all models have a built-in printer and RS-232 connection.

The Sedimatic range of ESR analysers is the dependable workhorse of several international reference laboratories, and independent studies show that the Sedimatic has an excellent correlation to the reference 200mm Westergren method, with average accuracy for the 2ml tube being 0.96.

The studies are freely available from Analytical Technologies, along with full technical data for each instrument.

Analytical Technologies says it takes particular pride in its level of after sales service of ESR machines and ensures that down times are kept to an absolute minimum through a program of preventative maintenance.
