Frequent monitoring and adjustment of dissolved CO2 levels increases cell viability, maximises yield and improves quality of product.

The flexibility of the YSI 8500 increases its potential for use in a wide range of applications.

Measurements can be taken at frequent intervals - from 15 seconds - or programmed for longer intervals to suit specific processes.

CO2 can be measured from 0 25%, to an accuracy of +/-5% of the reading or 0.2% absolute whichever is the greater.

Real-time data is either displayed digitally, uploaded to a computer or fed back into the control process.

The YSI 8500 is more accurate than traditional manual sampling methods.

These may alter the sample so it is not representative of the media and take no account of temperature variations which affect the concentration of dissolved gas.

The YSI 8500 has an internal algorithm to correct values measured at different operating temperatures.

The sampling process does not consume CO2 and the optical sensor is not affected by pH.

A range of reusable stainless steel probes fitted with disposable sensors is available.

These are of durable construction and fully autoclavable to minimise the risk of process contamination.

The YSI 8500 uses an exclusive patented opto-chemical technology making it a reliable and cost effective method of measuring CO2.

By maintaining low and constant levels, the production of pharmaceuticals, proteins and antibodies can be significantly increased.
