Serum proteins are quickly and easily separated and quantified using this method to improve the management and monitoring of the inflammatory process by speeding up patient diagnosis and treatment

The new High Resolution (HR) kit for Sebia Capillarys is now available in the UK from exclusive distributor Analytical Technologies.

Serum proteins are quickly and easily separated and quantified using this method to improve the management and monitoring of the inflammatory process by speeding up patient diagnosis and treatment.

The kit allows the separation of samples into the following nine serum proteins: albumin, alpha 1 glycoprotein acid, alpha 1 antitrypsin, haptoglobin, alpha 2 macroglobin, transferrin, complement C3, C-reactive protein, and gammaglobulins.

The method also gives a quantitative result for the four main serum proteins - albumin, alpha 1 glycoprotein, alpha 1 antitrypsin and haptoglobin.

With a throughput of 40 samples per hour and sensitivity for monoclonal band detection of 100mg/l, the clarity of results minimises the need for additional tests to be run.

Inflammatory proteins are indicative of a variety of diseases.

Identifying and quantifying specific proteins to ascertain whether levels are raised or lowered provides a profile useful in the rapid diagnosis of liver or kidney disease and other inflammatory conditions, so treatment can be started immediately.
