Andor buys Swiss image-analysis software company

An Andor Technology product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Jan 5, 2010

Andor Technology has acquired Bitplane AG, a Zurich-based interactive microscopy image-analysis software company specialising in medical and life sciences.

By focussing on 3D and 4D imaging, Bitplane actively shapes the way scientists process microscope imagery.

Imaris, Bitplane's core software platform, delivers functionality for visualisation and analysis of 3D and 4D microscopy datasets.

It provides powerful features for processing multi-dimensional datasets from a few megabytes to hundreds of gigabytes in size.

Advanced analysis tools address complex problems ranging from spatial statistics, morphology and interconnectivity, to tracking cell movements in living organisms.

The existing management and employees will remain with the business, which will continue to trade as Bitplane following completion.
