Analytical launches Autotest D12 gas monitor

An Analytical Technology product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Nov 17, 2008

Analytical Technology has released its D12 two-wire, loop-powered, toxic/combustible gas detector, a sensor that can provide accurate readings of over 30 gas concentrations.

Water and wastewater treatment processes regularly require the use of toxic gases and chemicals that need constant monitoring and detection to ensure safety in the plant environment.

The D12 toxic/combustible gas detector can efficiently monitor gas quantities within the installation area using smart electrochemical gas diffusion sensors.

The device has menu-driven set-up pages and a large LCD numerical display to read gas values along with alarm indication.

The D12 utilises Analytical Technology's Smart sensors.

All calibration and Autotest data is held within the memory of the sensor.

If a new sensor is needed it arrives ready calibrated and all that is needed is to plug it in; the D12 does the rest.

The Autotest self-checking sensor system generates a small sample of gas every 24 hours to verify operation, ensuring accurate response checks.

The detector uses an electrochemical sensor for toxic gases and a catalytic bead for combustible gases, which offer accuracy levels of +/-10 per cent of value.

The monitor can be used in hazardous conditions, including outdoors and in high winds, while still giving reliable data.

Calibration, alarm, set-up options and data view are all accessible via a magnetic tool and can also be done remotely using a bench transmitter.

The generators store run-time information, such as sensor condition, gas type, range and calibration data using an internal logger, which can be accessed at anytime on the display.

Data can be downloaded using the Mobus protocol and is also compatible with Hart communication output.
