The structure of each member of the SOCS family consists of a central Src homology 2 (SH2) domain and a SOCS box motif of 40 amino acids on the C-terminus

SOCS (suppressor of cytokine signaling), as the name implies, belong to a family of proteins that negatively regulates cytokine signaling1 The structure of each member of the SOCS family consists of a central Src homology 2 (SH2) domain and a SOCS box motif of 40 amino acids on the C-terminus

The SOCS proteins form part of a classical negative feedback loop that regulates cytokine signal transduction via a Stat-induced transcriptional mechanism.

Transcription of each of the SOCS genes occurs rapidly in vitro and in vivo in response to cytokines, and once produced, the various members of the SOCS family appear to inhibit signaling in different ways.

AnaSpec has introduced a suite of SOCS antibodies that have been validated in western blots using cell or tissue lysates.

These polyclonal antibodies, raised in rabbits and affinity purified, come in a new economical 50ug format.
