The Multi N/C series of catalytic combustion analysers from Analytik Jena UK claim 'extraordinary' versatility for TOC (total organic carbon) and TNb (total bound nitrogen) measurement

The novel design of the Multi N/C series provides a TOC measuring range from 2ppb up to 30000ppm without dilution and a fully integrated double furnace for the analysis of solids or liquids The exceptional measurement range is achieved using a multi-channel detector, which features three detectors to cover the entire measurement range and a reference detector

The system is equipped with automatic detector selection, auto drift compensation and auto- zeroing.

Automatic detector selection means that samples can be analysed without dilution.

An easy to use and low maintenance self check system is used to control all system functions.

High accuracy results are ensured using patented Vita technology, which automatically determines the retention time of the sample in the analyzer.

This is achieved by real time measurement of the gas flow to allow the detector signal to be automatically corrected for variations in the flow.

VITA technology not only leads to good accuracy and sensitivity but also excellent repeatability.

VITA improves repeatability from typically 5-10% in the 0.5 - 1.0mg/l range and 3-5% in the 1000 to 5000mg/l range to 1-2% across the measuring ranges.

In addition, Vita significantly reduces the intervals between calibrations to around six months.

Multi N/C series instruments can be calibrated across the entire detection range using a single standard sample, eliminating the need for a large number of standard reference materials.

Additional versatility comes from the double furnace configuration which can be oriented vertically for liquid samples and horizontally for solid samples.

It is simple to switch between the two configurations.
