Combines IT and life science applications to give an 'industrial strength' solution for real time data integration of virtually any life science data source
Applied Biosystems has recently signed an agreement with geneticXchange, a provider of data access and integration solutions for life science, to resell the DiscoveryHub software through the Rapid Integration Solutions (RIS) programme DiscoveryHub software combines IT and life science applications to give an industrial strength software solution for real time data integration of virtually any life science data source

The software accelerates and enhances the drug discovery process by removing data integration and analysis bottlenecks.
Open SQL middleware architecture works alongside existing IT infrastructures to extend and enhance in-house solutions and it can be easily configured to gain rapid access to life science data.
Lightweight wrappers can be created in less than a day to add external web sources, biochip data, Lims or internal databases.
The software provides real time data access and 'live' SQL queries can be run to join remote sources to internal systems secured behind firewalls.
DiscoveryHub software can also simplify data loading; high throughput wrappers efficiently load GenBank records and other large amounts of data into Oracle and other RDBMS.
Brian Donnelly, CEO of geneticXchange, said: "We are very excited to be collaborating with Applied Biosystems to bring innovative new capabilities to the market that will help solve the data integration challenge and produce an immediate and tangible impact on drug R and D productivity.".
