Applied Biosystems has recently launched version 3.0 of its highly successful GeneMapper Software This powerful software is designed to support a wide variety of research applications, including both SNP and microsatellite-based analyses, and because it can process more than 50,000 genotypes an hour, it is ideal for laboratories performing high throughput genotyping applications

GeneMapper v3.0 Software offers a complete set of interactive tools to define new markers and alleles, edit existing markers and allele bins, set up customised analysis methods and confirm allele calls quickly and accurately.

The entire data analysis process is automated, which significantly reduces the bottlenecks caused by having to manually check data, and a series of novel bin-building algorithms enhance automatic size- and allele-calling accuracy.

A process component-based quality values (PQV) system pinpoints the cause of the failed allele calls, filters out problematic data and determines the overall genotype quality.

GeneMapper v3.0 Software can analyse fragment analysis data from all Applied Biosystems genetic analysis systems and is flexible enough to allow data sharing between local GeneMapper databases without needing a client-server infrastructure or associated IT support costs.
