Applied Biosystems has recently launched the GeneAmp AccuRT RNA PCR kit and the GeneAmp AccuRT Hot Start RNA PCR kit to streamline reverse transcription (RT) and PCR experiments The kits contain a thermostable and thermoactive DNA polymerase, allowing experiments to be performed at higher temperatures and making reactions more specific, accurate and sensitive

The DNA polymerase is magnesium-activated to increase the fidelity of the reactions and is available in a single tube format so that RT and PCR can be performed in one easy step.

Where there are only small quantities of target nucleic acid, the new GeneAmp AccuRT Hot Start RNA PCR Kit ensures maximum product yield with minimum non-specific annealing and primer-dimer formation.

The kit is aptamer-based with a hot start capability for both reverse transcription and PCR and a reversible cold stop when the reaction is complete.

The GeneAmp AccuRT RNA PCR and Hot Start RNA PCR enzymes and their associated buffers can also be purchased separately.
