Handheld thermal imaging camera is multifunctional

An Armstrong Optical product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team May 1, 2008

The thermal imager can be utilised for both day and night timeframes and means that zero light conditions and smoke or fog/mist will not interrupt operations

By combining thermal and visible cameras, GPS, laser range finder and electronic compass, the IR513 multifunctional handheld thermal viewer from Armstrong Optical provides target observation for air, land or sea applications both day and night.

Target range, direction and location are obtained in real-time with results being sent to a command system through the built-in interfaces.

The IR513 is ideal for both mobile and/or static operation.

With all these features, the IR513 is ideal for military, police, firefighting, law enforcement and costal surveillance.

The built-in GPS and laser rangefinder allows the IR513 to determine position and range with accuracies of ~3m at up to 5km.

Typical ranging information available for the IR513 shows a detection capability of humans out to 2.5km, vehicles to 4km and aircraft to ~20km.
