Rapid solvent evaporator developed by Vapourtec and available in the UK from Asynt promises low temperature evaporation of compounds at speeds up to forty times faster then centifugal evaporators

Described as exceeding the present demands of compound preparation and purification, the new versatile V-10 rapid solvent evaporator from Vapourtec offers extensive flexibility and enables rapid, low temperature evaporation of compounds.

With reduced evaporation times of up to 40x (when compared to centrifugal evaporation), together with true open access, the V-10 offers much increased productivity.

Additionally its compact size, with built-in pump and condenser, ensures that it takes up the minimum of valuable bench space.

The V-10 demonstrates improved levels of protection for valuable compounds through a precise temperature control system and the simplicity and speed of the process make it highly suitable for automation.

The V-10 is said to be extremely safe and easy to use.

Set up is effortless due to the selection of pre-stored programmes, and reformatting is eliminated as compounds are dried directly into the vial of choice.

Designed to work with any standard vials of 1.5ml to 30ml, the V-10 offers improved scalability and is effective at drying from 1mg to several grams per vial.

The V-10 is network-compatible and utilises software which is easily upgradeable by CompactFlash card.

The V-10 can not only be used in a general bench chemistry environment but also for open access drying of preparative HPLC and flash chromatography fractions and for the concentration of extractions or dilute HPLC fractions in preparation for analysis.

The V-10 is also said to be ideal for solvent exchange or continuous drying of compounds following synthesis or purification by flow chemistry.

The flexibility of this versatile system enables it to be integrated with high throughput preparative HPLC systems, extracting samples from a sample loop and drying the compounds directly into the pre-tared vial of choice.

The Vapourtec V-10 rapid solvent evaporator is one of the latest products in the Asynt portfolio and promises to rewrite the rules of solvent evaporation, says the company.
