Thermal cycling at a new speed and
quality
This 'particularly fast' instrument for PCR is not only appropriate for the high throughput lab, but also for use as a high quality and powerful standard cycler
Based on a high performance thermal block and special microplates in SBS-standard format, PCR times are considerably reduced The new SpeedCycler is described as a particularly fast instrument for PCR and is not only appropriate for the high throughput lab, but also for use as a high quality and powerful standard cycler
The SpeedCycler implements heating rates of up to 10C/s and cooling rates of up to 6C/s.
Optimised times for dehybridisation and annealing make full use of the speed potential, for example of Taq polymerases.
The interaction of the system components results in a speed that is said to be up to ten times faster than that obtained with more conventional thermal cycling systems.
A typical protocol allows a PCR of 30 cycles to be run in less than 13 minutes.
