Probes for mid-infrared liquid analysis
Axiom Analytical, a supplier of sampling equipment, software, and molecular spectroscopy systems, has announced the availability of its DPR-F and DMD-F series attenuated total reflectance (ATR) probes
The F-series probes are fibre-optic coupled versions of Axiom's DPR series conventional and DMD Series diamond-tipped ATR probes The new probes utilise silver halide optical fibres to provide flexible coupling between the probe and an FTIR mid-IR spectrometer

Probe enhances sensitivity in Raman spectroscopy
Axiom Analytical's RFP-460 Multipass Raman Probe probe provides up to an order of magnitude enhancement in the sensitivity of Raman spectroscopy when used for the analysis of gases and clear liquids
In common with the direct-coupled DPR and DMD probes they feature a very high degree of photometric accuracy resulting from precise control of the optical ray directions and number of reflections within the ATR element.
As a result, calibrations obtained when using these probes can be transferred between installations employing any of the various Axiom ATR probes.
DPR-F and DMD-F ATR probes are available in two different diameters.
The smaller diameter probes are compatible with a wide variety of laboratory reaction vessels.
The larger diameter probes are optimised for applications such as on-line process monitoring which typically require higher optical transmission.
Both sizes are available in diamond tipped versions with Hastelloy bodies and PTFE seals.
These probes are suitable for use with strong acids and bases as well as other aggressive chemistries.
