Axiom announces diffuse reflectance probe

An Axiom Analytical product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Nov 12, 2009

Axiom Analytical introduces its fibre-optic coupled FDR-1835 diffuse reflectance probe, specifically designed for harsh field use in the large-scale sampling of wood chips and other biomass materials.

When coupled by means of fibre-optics to a suitable near-infrared spectrometer, it facilitates the measurement of moisture content and material composition prior to chemical processing.

The probe's robust construction makes it suitable for mounting on a large robotic structure for forced insertion into piles of scrap material.

The probe is approximately 75mm in diameter and is available in lengths up to 3m.

The FDR-1835 joins Axiom's line of diffuse reflectance probes for the near-IR and UV-Visible analysis in applications ranging from the measurement of chemical composition of emulsions and polymer slurries to pharmaceutical blending and drying.

Probes are available for both contact measurement and non-contact measurement with sample offsets of up to 100mm.
