Customised glass columns for peptide synthesiser
When the manufacturer of a peptide synthesiser needed a glass column that would operate at 600psi, it turned to Bio-Chem Valve/Omnifit for help
It comes in two-way and three-way manifold mountable configurations which share an identical footprint, allowing easy, efficient and interchangeable installation.
The unique valve has a precise, dual pivot diaphragm mechanism which ensures low internal volume, minimising carryover during precision mixing or dispensing of high purity or aggressive fluids.
An optional lever permits manual operation of the valve.
For complete control during the instrument design stage, the equipment designer can manually open or close the valve using this manual override feature.
The valve is available as a standard product or customised for specific applications.
Bio-Chem Valve also offers customised manifolds in conjunction with the valve.
This can eliminate production time and costs associated with design, testing, assembly, inventory, and order handling.
For stand-alone valve applications, such as early-stage instrument development, an attachment with 1/4-28 flat bottom ports is available.
Several material choices are available for the wetted parts, to provide compatibility with a broad range of chemicals and environmental conditions.
Available options include EPDM, Viton, or perfluoroelastomers for the diaphragm, and PPS, Peek, or Tefzel for the body material.
