High content screening
Beckman Coulter has become the exclusive distributor of the new KineticScan reader, which analyses the response of live cells, generating multiple images and parameter data
The integration of the new KineticScan reader from Cellomics on the Sagian core system extends the application of these systems into high-content cell-based screening, for improved compound lead optimisation.
The exclusive distributorship also encompasses the ArrayScan HCS system and the Cellomics Store and Cellomics Screen software used for high content cell-based screening.
Whereas other readers deliver one piece of information from each assay well, the new KineticScan HCS Reader for cell-based assays analyses the response of live cells, generating multiple images and parameter data for each microplate well, delivering large amounts of data on cell signal pathways.
This allows the screening lab to provide much more information on a particular compound before it goes to the therapeutic lab for ADME/Tox assays.
The Sagian Core System approach allows primary and secondary screening to be done on the same automation platform, for increased productivity.
Beckman Coulter will also market Cellomics' Hitkits HCS reagent kits for more than 20 assays including cell motility, multiparameter apoptosis and cell viability.
"This is the only detector that couples live cell fluorescent imaging with automated analysis to deliver real data for the drug discovery researchers," comments Rob Donoho, strategic market manager for Beckman Coulter.
"Combined with our automation technology and Cellomics Hitkits, it forms a smart solution for high content cell-based screening.
