Plasmid DNA purification system automated
Beckman Coulter announces the automation of Promega's Wizard SV 96 and SV 9600 Plasmid DNA Purification kits on the Biomek FX and Biomek 2000 liquid handling workstations
An agreement with Promega enables Beckman Coulter to offer complete and fully supported solutions for plasmid purification based on advanced liquid handling technology, validated methods and Promega chemistries.
Beckman Coulter is the primary distributor of Wizard SV 96 and SV 9600 Plasmid DNA purification kits for use on Biomek platforms, providing the customer a single point of contact for all aspects of the solutions.
The plasmid purification solutions developed by Beckman Coulter cover a wide range of throughput options to meet varying customer needs.
The Biomek 2000 workstation allows processing of six Promega SV 96 plates in 55 minutes, while the Biomek FX platform, with the new SV 9600 kit and 12-plate Wizard software, can process over 2300 plasmid preparations in less than eight hours.
"Genomics is one of the fastest growing areas of scientific research today," comments Peter Louie, strategic marketing manager for Beckman Coulter.
"We now have the capability through this agreement to expedite our customers' results by offering integrated solutions.".
