Broad, flexible access to genetic
analysis
A new genetic analysis system claims to automate and integrate the majority of functions into a single, easy-to-use system using one gel, one array, and one software platform
Beckman Coulter has introduced the CEQ 8000 genetic analysis system, which automates and integrates the majority of genetic analysis functions into one flexible, easy-to-use system With one gel, one array, and one software platform, users can perform DNA sequencing, heterozygote detection, confirmatory sequencing, mutation analysis, allele identification, SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism) scoring, microsatellite instability, and AFLP (amplified fragment length polymorphism) fingerprinting

This capillary electrophoresis-based system is compact and affordable, delivering both high-resolution and high-speed DNA analysis in a single setup.
The system's configuration of eight capillary arrays interfaces easily with 96-well plate formats.
"This tool simplifies and automates processes and data analysis functions to such a degree that it can be easily used by a wide range of researchers, not just highly specialised genetic analysis labs" explains Jeff Chapman, strategic marketing manager for Beckman Coulter.
"The CEQ 8000 allows researchers to focus on their science, rather than on complicated instrumentation." The CEQ 8000 software reduces data analysis and interpretation time by mapping a user's data review strategies to an automated process, with over 100 query filters.
With this feature, the user determines how the data will be interpreted and identifies the criteria for qualifying data.
CEQ 8000 is the latest addition to Beckman Coulter's suite of genetic analysis solutions which include automated liquid handling, centrifugation and capillary electrophoresis technologies. Request a free brochure from Beckman Coulter ...
