Automatic cell count and viability
Automates the standard haemocytometer Trypan blue method for evaluating cell viability using state of the art digital image analysis techniques
The new Vi-Cell XR (XR for extended range) automates the standard haemocytometer Trypan blue method for evaluating cell viability using state of the art digital image analysis techniques from Beckman Coulter.
The Vi-Cell XR allows cells from 3um to be analysed, applications such as yeast cells, and easy distinction between cells and debris.
The Vi-Cell XR provides an improved cell cluster analysis pool; the numbers of cell cluster as well as the numbers of cells within a cluster.
Aspiration of 500 microliters of sample, staining procedure and actual analysis routines are all standardised, reproducible and automatic procedures.
Cell count and concentration as well as viability status are available within 150 seconds.
A hot-swap 12-position auto sampler automates sample handling.
The Vi-Cell XR uses a custom-built flow cell combined with a high-resolution CCD camera.
The viability status of a sample under test can be followed on the screen in real-time.
A wide range of cell concentrations from 5x104 up to 1x107/ml can be analysed without predilution.
Operators may choose from two analysis methods: single image analysis or a collective method using all images captured during a run.
Parameters analysed by the Vi-Cell XR include: cell viability percentage; total cell count and viable cell count; cell concentration and viable cell concentration; cell size and cell size distribution; and circularity distribution.
Kinetic cell studies and bioreactor processes are supported by the software, offering viability trend plotting in 3D as well as growth rate and cell doubling time distributions.
The Vi-Cell XR is operated from a Windows based, 21 CFR 11-compliant software with an intuitive interface enabling users to quickly familiarise with all instrument functions.
