Measuring the effect of low temperature on rubber
The Benz TR 2200 temperature retraction tester measures the effects of low temperature on rubber, plastic and other elastomeric materials.
Electronics package for ageing ovens
Design eliminates roundabout steps that are irrelevant to ageing ovens but found on typical off-the-shelf electronics control packages
"The MFI 2100 is really simple to use, particularly because of the new, integrated digital timer and end-of-test alarm, which are standard in each testing instrument," said Ted Benz, president of Benz Materials Testing Instruments.
"An operator just starts the test, then can walk away.
It completes itself".
"The MFI 2100 is a very inexpensive alternative to guesswork, allowing engineers, production managers, quality controllers and researchers to verify materials used and to repeatedly confirm density and consistency of products," he said.
"The MFI 2100 can do everything from finding inconsistencies in extruded polyethylene pellets to analysing the density of TPEs." The Benz MFI 2100 measures the flow rate of molten recycled plastic resins, for example, under prescribed temperature, time and pressure.
The measurement identifies the material, confirming both the density and the identity of the pellets or chips that have been melted in the MFI 2100.
The Benz MFI 2100 measures per ASTM D-1238 for plastics, and it can have automatic loading, automatic sample cut-off and automatic hands-off operation.
It is PC-compatible, allowing computation of flow rate over time and under different pressures and temperatures.
The PC-compatibility allows data storage, data analysis and graphic illustration of data comparisons in a Windows 2000 environment.
The MFI 2100 includes a new integrated temperature control and timer, a RTD temperature probe and barrel heaters for rapid heating and stable temperature while testing.
Thermo-isolators minimise outside interference with test results.
Actual temperature and setpoint are digitally displayed.
The Benz MFI 2100 is compact, taking up only about 30x30cm of counter space.
It is manufactured in anodised aluminum and stainless steel for ease of cleaning and maintenance in hostile environments.
