Testing fatigue in rubber and plastics
Demattia flex tester features variable speeds and temperatures for testing fatigue, breakage or crack growth in rubber, plastics, leather, fibre optics and exotic composites
Benz Materials Testing Instruments is offering a DeMattia flex tester that is ideal for testing fatigue, breakage or crack growth in rubber, plastics, leather, fibre optics and exotic composites The Benz DFT2100 is used for such diverse products as tyres, belts and hoses, laminates, athletic equipment, aerospace and automotive parts, medical apparatus, shoe soles, upholstery, and fibre optic tubing

Measuring the effect of low temperature on rubber
The Benz TR 2200 temperature retraction tester measures the effects of low temperature on rubber, plastic and other elastomeric materials.
Electronics package for ageing ovens
Design eliminates roundabout steps that are irrelevant to ageing ovens but found on typical off-the-shelf electronics control packages
With 20 stations, the Benz DFT2100 simultaneously flexes as many as 20 product samples for up to ten million cycles, and has the ability of variable speed testing from 30 to 300 cycles/minute.
The accelerated testing can save days in determining a product's ability to withstand repeated flexing.
An unusual feature is a temperature chamber which allows testing from -100C to +150C.
The Benz-designed temperature controller precisely controls the temperature while also controlling the test speed.
The front panel controls consist of a circuit breaker on/off switch, on/off switches for the lights and motor, and a pushbutton knob for test setup.
Temperature and speed are adjusted from this knob, making it a very simple setup and a short learning curve for new technicians.
Several different products can be simultaneously tested.
Fixed distances range from 6-100mm.
The Benz DFT2100 can be pre-set to as many as 10,000,000 cycles and then digitally displays either the number of cycles remaining in the test or the number that have been completed.
The DFT2100 can be used in testing materials to ASTM, ISO, DIN, BS, JIS and other US and international standards.
With a heavy-duty steel base plate, stainless steel chamber, hard coat anodised aluminum and stainless steel components, and safety glass in the door, the Benz DFT2100 is described as rugged, functional and safe.
Switches are vibration-resistant.
The 1/2 horsepower direct-drive DC motor is mounted securely to the pedestal and drives the camshaft without belts.
The Benz DFT 2100 operates on 110 or 220 volts, 50 or 60Hz.
Compact, it requires less than 0.2m2 of counter space and stands 61cm tall.
