BFi Optilas and Osram Opto sign distribution deal

BFi Optilas will become one of the channels to market for Osram Opto Semiconductors range of high power laser diode products in Europe

Osram Opto Semiconductors has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Osram since 2001.

Originally part of the semiconductor group at Siemens, the company has more than 30 years of experience in developing and manufacturing optical semiconductor components.

Osram Opto Semiconductors is the second largest manufacturer of optical semiconductors in the world in the lighting, sensor and visualisation sectors.

The collaboration involves high power semiconductor bars (up to 80 Watts CW and 150 Watts QCW), a revolutionary Sirilas high power laser diode package (30Watts, compact, low cost TO263 package), Single emitters (0.5-2Watts, more to come soon), pulsed laser diodes and customized packages.

Optical networking products, including A/R coatings, spectrum analyzers and optical filters for DWDM Thanks to this new agreement, customers will get the benefit quality of BFi Optilas local service in a variety of European countries (BFi Optilas has offices in Benelux, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and UK) at Ocean Optics catalogue list price.

Osram Opto Semiconductors and BFi Optilas expect to strongly increase strongly their market penetration thanks to the new collaboration, they say.
