Free lunch for lab managers at BioScience2006

A Biochemical Society product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team May 23, 2006

The saying goes, 'There's no such thing as a free lunch', but at BioScience2006 both lunch and entry to the trade exhibition are completely gratis to invited laboratory managers

The Laboratory Managers' Day will take place on Wednesday 26 July 2006, 10:00-17:00 at the SECC in Glasgow.

Heads of department at major British universities have received invitations from the Biochemical Society to pass on to their laboratory managers.

In addition, BioScience2006 exhibitors will be given four invitations each to send to laboratory managers of their choice.

So expect to see your invitation soon.

"The range of bioscience related exhibiting companies will provide lots of product information, good personal contacts and an opportunity to network with colleagues".

"We hope very much that research team leaders will support the attendance of their lab manager colleagues - the key people who ensure that everybody else can get their experiments done and papers written" said Sheila Alink-Brunsdon of the Biochemical Society.

To date more than 40 companies have registered to exhibit at the third annual BioScience conference.

Exhibitors include major sponsors: Alexis Biochemicals, BBSRC, Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Press, DiscoveRx, GE Healthcare, Monsanto, Nature Jobs and Stratagene.

On the Wednesday evening, all attendees are welcome to take part in social events - Glasgow Horror Tour and Beer Science.
