Software for freeze drying microscope

A Biopharma Technology product story
Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team Jul 20, 2001

A new system which significantly reduces freeze drying cycle development time, combining still and motion picture image capture, is available from Biopharma Technologies

Lyostat, the fully integrated freeze drying microscope system which significantly reduces freeze drying cycle development time, now benefits from a new software package which has been developed by Biopharma Technology.

LyoVision is the new integrated software which combines and displays the image captured on camera with the temperature values, in the same file.

This allows 'snap shots' and 'movies' of the freeze drying process to be recorded and archived for future reference.

These images are saved as JPEGs, which can be attached to reports or e-mailed.

LyoVision software has been designed to be easily installed and set-up and works in two modes.

The first mode controls the temperature and records the images and data, while the second mode is used as a vehicle for playing back previously recorded snap-shots or movies.

The images can be saved with the user name and sample identity, which can both be inputted by the user at the beginning of the determination.

At the same point, the date, time, and the temperature of the freeze-drying sample can be recorded.

The latter is automatically carried out by the computer to ensure correct and accurate data capture.

LyoVision is now a recommended option for the Lyostat system, and the first external installation of the new software will be to a customer in the USA as an upgrade to its previously purchased Lyostat system.
