Biopharma Process Systems has introduced a new vacuum stoppering system and multi-head filler which provides reliable, semi-automatic batch insertion of stoppers into filled containers

Efficient filling and stoppering for pre-packaged products and formulations in the pharmaceuticals industry is an essential requirement, with manufacturers demanding systems which provide the benefits of automation, precision and reliability.

The versatile Cozzoli volumetric multi-head F329 fillers are adaptable to various containers and products ranging from aqueous solutions to heavy oils.

They are available with six, eight, or ten filling heads to handle varying matrix patterns and can operate at up to 20 cycles / 200 containers per minute, providing filling accuracy of ± 0.5%.

Liquid contact parts are made from 316 stainless steel for easy cleaning and sterilisation.

Cozzoli's innovative 'no O-ring, no packing' syringe and sliding valve design eliminates a major source of potential product contamination, while a 'draw-back' control eliminates hanging droplets after each fill cycle.

The F329HE model is PLC controlled with a mechanically driven carriage with electronic advancement.

This eliminates the need for matrix change parts when moving from one pattern arrangement to another, resulting in a substantial reduction in changeover time, by at least four hours.

The two-component MVP vacuum stoppering system is designed and manufactured to meet the highest performance standards with ease and accuracy.

Unlike other systems, the vacuum chamber and all container handling components are completely autoclavable and designed to withstand temperatures of 450F (232C).

The entire chamber can be steam-sterilised.

The vacuum chamber is constructed in 316 stainless steel with a choice of either Lexan, glass or stainless steel door, with seals of silicone or Viton to ensure vacuum integrity.

The system includes a pneumatic stopper transfer mechanism operated by the cycle control unit, which governs all the functions of the assembly operation according to the parameters pre-selected by the operator.

The combination of the Cozzoli filling and stoppering system is an ideal solution for handling syringes, vials, glass tubes and all pre-packaged or hand-loaded containers in the pharmaceutical process industries.
