Interphex preview: Biopharma
A new design of magnetic mixer and a compact, integrated filling and stoppering system are two new products being exhibited at the show
The Asepco PolyMixerT is a new generation of mixing system providing a better mixing performance in CIP and SIP process systems, without the disadvantages of other methods For example, first and second generation mixing vessels (top motor mount and bottom magnetic drive) have, by virtue of their design, a number of disadvantages

Automatic filling station
Biopharma Process Systems has introduced a new vacuum stoppering system and multi-head filler which provides reliable, semi-automatic batch insertion of stoppers into filled containers
Typically, these are for top mount designs; the need for high head clearance, can be top heavy, inability to mix to the bottom of the vessel, double mechanical seals required means extra maintenance, and difficult motor and drive access.
For bottom mount magnetic drive mixers the disadvantages can be large welding diameter on the mounting plate causing warping and impeller fit problems, decoupling problems due to wide design, limited mixing modes, and blade restricted to bottom location in tank.
Crucial to the improved performance of the Asepco PolyMixer is the design and assembly of its motor, weldment mounting post and impeller hub.
This rigid, small diameter weld post enables easy installation, and unlike magnetic mixers with larger footprints, eliminates vessel warping.
The Mini Monoblock is a compact, integrated filling and stoppering machine which is designed to fill liquids or powders and then stopper or cap the containers at speeds up to 60 containers per minute.
The Mini Monoblock is capable of covering a range of vial sizes from 1 to 100ml.
The key features of the Mini Monoblock include PLC controls for easy operation and validation, hygienic wipe down cGMP design, no tool changeover, straight through, side mount filling nozzle, positive displacement fill system and overload protection for main starwheel.
