New length for immobilized pH gradient
strips

Bio-Rad Laboratories has added 18 cm IPG (immobilized pH gradient) strips to its popular ReadyStrip product line for the first dimension of 2-D gel electrophoresis

As part of its ongoing initiative to enhance protein research tools, Bio-Rad Laboratories has added 18 cm IPG (immobilized pH gradient) strips to its popular ReadyStrip product line for the first dimension of 2-D gel electrophoresis The new 18 cm length now makes Bio-Rad's complete offerings of broad, narrow and micro-range pH gradients available to fit popular SDS-Page second dimension systems including Bio-Rad's Protean Plus Dodeca cell and systems from other suppliers

"A large segment of the 2-D marketplace remains very loyal to the 18 cm format, particularly at high-throughput labs," explains Richelle Serrano, Bio-Rad Senior Product Manager, BioMaterials Division.

"We recognized the opportunity to provide a wider range of useful pH gradients which are fully compatible with existing apparatus." The broad range includes pH 310 and 310 non-linear.

Narrow range includes pH: 47, 36, 58 and 710.

Micro range includes pH: 3.95.1, 4.75.9, 5.56.7 and the unique 6.38.3 range, all available in lengths of 7, 11, 17 and 18 cm.

Bio-Rad now offers a complete range of IPG strip lengths and pH ranges to fit most systems and applications, including: studying a well-characterized protein, mapping the proteome and isolating a large quantity of protein.

Like all Bio-Rad ReadyStrips, the 18 cm strips are clearly and permanently labeled to mark the anode and the pH range.

This is for convenience and also to eliminate mix-ups.

Bio-Rad also offers new ReadyStrip buffers optimized for each pH range.

Convenient zip lock packaging with clear inner bag makes it easy to count strips and remove them with minimal handling.

2-D electrophoresis is a key component of Bio-Rad's ProteomeWorks System, a multi-divisional initiative to streamline proteomics research.

The program encompasses both protein discovery and post-discovery techniques. Request a free brochure from Bio-Rad Laboratories ...
