Protein standards deliver even sharper
bands

Precision Plus Protein standards deliver even sharper bands, more bands, superior lot-to-lot consistency and a dual color option in a broad range ladder

Improving upon the most accurate electrophoretic protein standards available, Bio-Rad is introducing its Precision Plus Protein standards They deliver even sharper bands, more bands, superior lot-to-lot consistency and a dual color option in a broad range ladder

The new Precision Plus Protein standards line includes unstained, all blue prestained and dual color prestained versions.

Each provides ten bands: 10, 15, 20, 25, 37, 50, 75, 100, 150 and 250 kD, three higher concentration reference bands and Bio-Rad confirms the molecular weight of each protein by mass spectrometry for unsurpassed accuracy.

A new band at 20 kD provides exceptional molecular weight accuracy in the 10-25 kD range.

Bio-Rad has also added three reference bands, (25, 50 and 75 kD in higher concentrations than the other bands), providing instant orientation of gels and blots for convenience.

"Precision Protein standards were the flagship of the Bio-Rad product line because of their sharp bands and molecular weight accuracy," explains Richelle Serrano, Senior Product Manager, BioMaterials Division.

"Weûre strengthening this position by further improving the specifications and adding a dual color product.

We like to say that protein standards have never looked better." The unstained Precision Plus Protein standards are the best available for accurate estimation of protein molecular weight by electrophoretic migration.

The R2 of the Rf vs log(molecular weight) plot >.99.

Each protein contains a Strep-tag, which is an amino acid sequence that binds to both native streptavidin and the genetically modified form called StrepTactin.

The high affinity binding of Strep Tactin to the Strep-tag allows for the convenient detection of the unstained proteins in western blotting.

The all blue prestained version delivers all the performance of the unstained standard, with no visible molecular weight shift accompanying the convenience of prestained proteins.

The dual color Precision Plus Protein standard boasts the sharpest bands of any multi-color standard, along with the convenience of two colors.

The 50 kD reference band is blue, the 25 and 75 kD bands are pink and the remaining bands are blue.

Like the all blue standard, the dual color product features minimal band shift relative to the unstained standard. Request a free brochure from Bio-Rad Laboratories ...
