Ceramic fluoroapatite chromatography medium offers researchers a wider pH range at which to run their separations and increased density, which allows fast and easy column packing

Bio-Rad Laboratories announces the worldwide launch of CFT ceramic fluoroapatite, a new addition to its line of inorganic calcium phosphate chromatographic media.

CFT ceramic fluoroapatite is a composite of fluoroapatite and hydroxyapatite prepared by converting hydroxyapatite nano-crystals with a fluorine reagent.

Available in two distinct types, type I and type II, and in one particle size, 40um, CFT is physically and chemically stable.

With separation characteristics similar to CHT ceramic hydroxyapatite, CFT can be used under stringent chromatography conditions to separate proteins, antibodies, or immunoglobulins, as well as acidic proteins requiring buffer conditions as low as pH5 with minimal compromise to media lifetime.

"CFT joins Bio-Rad's well-known CHT ceramic hydroxyapatite, which has made strides in the biopharmaceutical processing industry," states Tanis Correa, CFT product manager.

"A robust, rigid macroporous support, CFT offers researchers a wider pH range at which to run their separations and increased density, which allows fast and easy column packing.".
