Uncover low-abundance proteins in
complex samples
ProteoMiner protein enrichment kits employ a novel bead-based technology, using combinatorial peptide ligands to simultaneously dilute high-abundance proteins and concentrate low-abundance proteins
Bio-Rad Laboratories has introduced its new ProteoMiner protein enrichments kits, which enable researchers to concentrate and enrich low- and medium-abundance proteins that cannot be detected through traditional methods ProteoMiner protein enrichment kits are compatible with a variety of sample types and can be used with most downstream protein analysis techniques including one- or two-dimensional gel electrophoresis, chromatography, and surface-enhanced laser desorption/ionisation

ProteoMiner kits are compatible with a variety of sample types and can be used with all major downstream protein analysis techniques including 1D or 2D gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry
"ProteoMiner kits enable life and pharmaceutical researchers to reduce the complexity of biological samples and detect low-abundance proteins," said Kate Smith, Bio-Rad's expression proteomics product manager.
When a complex biological sample is applied to the beads, high-abundance proteins saturate their high affinity ligand(s), and excess protein is washed away.
In contrast, low-abundance proteins are concentrated on their specific affinity ligand(s).
To provide flexibility for use with multiple downstream applications, two ProteoMiner protein enrichment kit formats are available.
Both are optimised for use with serum and plasma samples, but they may also be used with other sample types with at least 50mg total protein available.
The ProteoMiner protein enrichment introductory kit, provides columns and all necessary reagents for accessing low-abundance proteins in a variety of biological samples and is compatible with the majority of downstream proteomics applications.
This kit can be used to process two samples.
The full-size kit can be used to process up to ten samples.
The ProteoMiner sequential elution kit is available for researchers who wish to elute their proteins into multiple fractions to detect additional proteins.
This kit has been optimised for Seldi experiments and provides columns and reagents for processing up to ten samples. Request a free brochure from Bio-Rad Laboratories ...
