The 724 can simulate and measure ten thermocouple types, seven RTD types, ohms, and volts to high accuracy.
The easy-to-read dual display with backlight allows input and output to be viewed simultaneously.
Voltage can be measured up to 30V using independent terminals.
Measurement at the temperature calibration terminals is also possible from -10mV to +75mV to a resolution of 0.01mV.
Current can be measured up to 24mA to a resolution of 1æA.
Resistance measurement extends up to 3200ohms with a resolution of 0.01ohms.
As a source, the resistance range is 15ohms to 3200ohms.
Particular features include the ability to perform fast linearity tests with 25% and 100% steps and to execute remote tests with auto-step and auto-ramp functions.
The 724 can power transmitters during test using the loop power supply with simultaneous milliampere current measurement.
The loop supply voltage is 24VDC.
Ease of use is a major feature with simple 'no menu' controls.
Frequently used test setups can be stored for later use.
The 724 is a battery-powered instrument using four AA cells.
It has a compact streamlined shape, making it easy to carry.
Its rugged design stands up to field work, while its backlight allows working in poor ambient light.
The Fluke 724 costs £991 (plus VAT), and is available directly from TTi.
