Three-phase power analyser
Instrument for general-purpose measurements of watts, power factor, harmonics and voltage in the design, development and production of electrical and electronic equipment
The PM300 power analyser, now available in the UK from TTi (Thurlby Thandar Instruments), is said to be an ideal instrument for general-purpose measurements of watts, power factor, harmonics and voltage in the design, development and production of electrical and electronic equipment With direct connection to the analyser's 20A rated internal shunts, the errors of gain and phase found in external current transformers and transducers are eliminated

Harmonics analyser measures flicker
The HA 1600 from TTi is upgraded to incorporate both Amendment 14 to the harmonics legislation standard (EN61000-3-2), and extra flicker measurement capabilities to EN61000-3-3
For measurements above 20A, a broad range of transformers, shunts and DC coupled transducers can be accommodated.
Voltage input range is from 2V RMS to 1000V peak, and current input range is from 20mA RMS to 20A RMS.
The basic accuracy is 0.1%, with a bandwidth from DC to 250kHz.
Overload withstand is 1400V peak for one second or 60A RMS for one second.
The front panel gives a graphic display of waveforms and harmonic bar charts.
Watts, volts, amperes, voltamperes, reactive power, power factor, peak voltage, peak current, crest factor and frequency may also be displayed.
Optional interfaces include an IEEE-488 unit for high-speed control and data capture.
An RS-232 and parallel printer interface allows complete command and results handling as well as connection to a standard printer for printing displayed or selected numeric results.
A chart-recorder and alarm interface is also included with 12DC outputs of 0-5V to track any measurement parameter desired.
Two free relay contacts can be programmed to toggle at any selected level for alarm or process control purposes.
The 12 chart recorder outputs may also be configured as digital alarms.
VPASLite Windows software is available for control and data handling.
This features quick and easy set-up of parameters to analyse and display numeric data and harmonic bar charts.
Data may be exported to standard Windows-based text and spreadsheet applications for further presentation and analysis.
The PM300 costs £2237 (plus VAT).
