Harmonics analyser measures flicker
The HA 1600 from TTi is upgraded to incorporate both Amendment 14 to the harmonics legislation standard (EN61000-3-2), and extra flicker measurement capabilities to EN61000-3-3
The 1604 incorporates several 'smart' functions such as relative measurement and minimum/maximum storage.
A 'T-hold' function enables readings to be held on the display automatically each time a new test point is probed.
All AC measurements are true RMS.
Good AC bandwidth allows accurate measurement within the audio band and ensures that higher frequency components of switching waveforms are included within the measurement result.
The 1604 has a frequency function which can be selected on any AC range in order to measure the frequency of the signal.
Frequencies up to 40 kHz can be measured, and the maximum resolution is 0.1 Hz.
Unlike a hand-held multimeter, this robust mains-powered bench-top instrument stays where it is put, even with heavy test leads connected.
The multi-position tilt stand ensures that the large display is always readable.
The instrument is fitted with an isolated RS-232 interface that can be used to send measurement readings to a PC.
Data logging software for use on a PC is also available to provide full remote control of the multimeter with the display and keyboard duplicated on the screen.
A data-logging facility is incorporated which enables readings to be stored at a timed interval and saved to disk.
Up to 32,000 readings can be taken at intervals between one second and one hour.
Each log file can have a text header, and the data is stored in a text format which can be displayed either in the listing window of the PC1604 software or using any text editor such as Notepad.
The 1604 is housed in a robust ABS case with adjustable tilt-stand/handle.
It measures 260(W) x 88(H) x 235(D) mm and weighs 2.0 kg.
The price is £199 (plus VAT).
