Simplified data handling for RS232/GPIB hardware
The new DDDA data acquisition software from Stanford Research Systems simplifies the control and plotting of data from all RS232 and GPIB instruments using Windows 95/98 and NT.
Harmonics analyser measures flicker
The HA 1600 from TTi is upgraded to incorporate both Amendment 14 to the harmonics legislation standard (EN61000-3-2), and extra flicker measurement capabilities to EN61000-3-3
GPIB (IEEE-488) and RS232 interfaces are fitted, and the units can be locally operated using either numeric or rotary controls.
In addition to the two 4-digit meters, a third display is provided for previewing new voltage or current values, setting increments, or displaying power in watts.
The heart of the TSX series is an advanced regulator design which combines switch-mode pre-regulation with linear post-regulation.
Full active power-factor correction is incorporated.
The pre-regulator uses specially developed techniques to dramatically reduce the capacitance between input and output, thus eliminating the high levels of common-mode noise normally associated with switch-mode power supplies.
The linear post-regulator combines very low levels of output noise with excellent load regulation and transient response.
The result is performance comparable with that of a pure linear design, says the company.
The TSX-P series is silent in operation as the high thermal efficiency allows for convection cooling, eliminating the need for a cooling fan.
The units are therefore particularly suitable for use in quiet environments.
The casing is designed for bench or rack mounting, being half-rack width and 3U height.
An optional rack-mount kit is available.
Output terminals are fitted at both front and rear.
Price in the UK is £750 (plus VAT).
