The newest member of the Libra family of UV-vis and visible spectrophotometers launched at this year's Pittcon by Biochrom, the Libra S5, offers instantaneous visible-range scanning at a third of the usual price.
'Flash scan' diode array optics mean that there are no moving parts or delicate scanning mechanism to get out of alignment.
Combined with a compact, lightweight design to give ruggedness and portability makes this ideal for routine and at-line QC applications and the teaching laboratory.
Spectra are available in seconds for applications like product or raw material integrity checks.
Spectra and kinetics assays can be viewed on the built-in display, and the usual absorbance, concentration, and transmission modes are available.
Up to 50 methods can be stored for instant recall.
The open sample compartment affords ultimate ease of access which, combined with the speed of scanning, makes the instrument perfect for busy teaching laboratories.
The Libra S5H version has a factory-fitted heated cell holder for thermostatted measurements.
