Edited by the Laboratorytalk editorial team May 11, 2009

Biochrom has introduced a high-performance scanning microplate reader with a built-in UV/Vis spectrophotometer.

The compact Zenyth 200 is designed specifically for the needs of life-science laboratories that need a fast, accurate plate reader with the flexibility to handle multiple plate formats from cell-culture (6-48-well) plates to 96/384-well plates.

Biochrom has introduced a high-performance scanning microplate reader with a built-in UV/Vis spectrophotometer.

The reader's advanced optics are capable of endpoint, kinetic, multi-chromatic, spectral and position scanning covering the 190-1,000nm range.

For kinetic studies, the temperature can be controlled.

The Zenyth 200 is available in two versions.

The standalone version has built-in stored routines for nucleic-acid quantitation and characterisation and integrated Windows CE (LAN interface) to facilitate data transfer.

The PC-controlled version uses Adap Basic software or can be upgraded to Adap Prizma, which includes both an advanced Elisa module and stored routines for cuvette assays, including protein, nucleic-acid and oligo concentration.

The Anthos product range of high-performance microplate instrumentation is manufactured by Biochrom and is available worldwide.
